Why Do Our Prices Fluctuate by Season and Day of the Week?

Planning a wedding involves countless decisions, but few factors impact your budget as significantly as the timing of your event. From seasonal demand to weekday discounts, here’s why our venue costs vary throughout the year and across different days of the week.

Seasonal Demand Drives Pricing

Venue prices often mirror tourism and weather patterns. Peak wedding seasons (typically late spring to early fall) see heightened demand due to favorable weather, leading to premiums compared to off-peak months like January, March, or November. For example, June and September weddings in temperate regions like Kentucky or New England command top dollar, while winter dates may offer steep discounts. Outdoor venues, such as gardens or beaches, are especially prone to seasonal pricing, as couples risk added costs for tents or heating during unpredictable months.

Weekday vs. Weekend Rates

The day of the week also plays a pivotal role. Saturday evenings are the most sought-after—and expensive—time slots, which leads many venues to charge significantly more than weekday rates. By contrast, Monday through Thursday weddings can slash venue fees by thousands, as demand plummets. For instance, a Tuesday wedding might cost $5,000 less than a Saturday event at the same venue. Sundays and Fridays fall in the middle, often offering moderate savings while still accommodating guest schedules.

The wedding world can be so convoluted and confusing, especially to the newly initiated. We hope that this post helped to clarify our pricing structure at Camp Hosea.
